It has become a tradition in our family to go to Winterfest in Thornton each December. We get our picture with Santa, drink hot cocoa, look at the mini village, watch the elves work, eat fair food, and try to ice skate (although we missed ice skating this year because it closed before we got there). It was fun but very cold so we didn't last long this year.
