JDRF Walk 2009 continued...

Here are more pictures of the walk. We have continued to raise a little more money and our total is now up to almost $2700.00 and the pampered chef party is set to make I think around $150.00. Woo Hoo! Update: We did raise almost $2850.00

Everyone who has diabetes got an orange hat so when we were walking around we could tell who else we were walking for, a new thing they did this year. Olivia loved her hat.

Tea Party at the Capitol

My mom, dad, aunt Terri, cousin Annie and Matt, Liz, and my brother Mike attended a Republican Tea Party at the Capitol in Denver after Audrey's birthday party. Matt brought posters for everyone to write on and carry. WARNING- if you are an Obama supporter you may want to skip this post!

JDRF Diabetes Walk 2009

Hi everyone,

The walk was awesome and we ended up raising $2650.00 which is incredible!!! I will post more pictures soon but things have been very chaotic and overwhelming here to say the least and I probably will not get to it for a few weeks for many reasons but I did want to let you all know how we did and how excited and blessed we feel.

I also need to mention that my friend Leah Good has offered for me to host an online Pampered Chef party to raise additional money for Olivia's walk so if you would like something from Pampered Chef please go to her website www.pamperedchef.biz/thegoodkitchen and click on "Our Products" near the top. On the left is "How to Purchase", click on that and then it will ask you to enter your host's name and last name or the organization. You can either enter my name Heather Lee or JDRF. This online show will end on September 30th and after that a check of the proceeds will be sent to JDRF and add to our total that we raised for the walk which was last weekend. Even thought the walk is over, we have until October 15th to send any outstanding checks to JDRF to add to our walk total. If you can't think of something you want, Birthdays or Christmas is another way to get something for someone and still help. Please don't feel obligated to do this, it is just a sweet way that Leah wanted to help.

Audrey's Princess Party

We had a little party for Audrey's 3rd birthday a few weeks after her actual birthday so my parents could be here. We invited just family so my cousin Annie, her hubby Matt, and their three kids, Katie, Titus, and Henry came too. My Aunt Terri (Annie's mom and my mom's sister) was visiting Annie so she came too! It was so much fun to have them here. My brother Mike also came.

My first fancy cake, up until now it's just been sheet cakes or store bought cakes.

This picture cracks me up because we told Audrey to show us her present and Olivia did it instead like it was for her. She loves these little princess dolls and plays with them forever. They might as well be hers.

The whole time we were singing "Happy Birthday" she stood there in a frozen position, not moving, not looking at us. It was so funny, I'm not sure if she thought if she moved she would fall off the cooler she was standing on or what.

8 Months Along Which Means 8 Weeks Left, Yikes!!!

Seriously! Is it getting that close? Yikes, I'm not ready. I'm ready to meet my little man but I have so much I'd like to get done before he arrives. I found out I'm a little anemic so I'm taking an iron supplement. I'm not taking as good of care of myself as I did when I was pregnant with my girls. It's hard when I'm busier and taking care of two little ones. Pray that I'll get through this next 8 weeks and that I'll slow down, relax, eat better, and be ready.

Olivia's First Day of Preschool

She isn't in a new outfit with a new backpack and lunchbox because we are homeschooling! (Although I thought about buying her something new and getting her a backpack and taking a picture of her outside like my mom did with me when I went to a Christian school). P.S. I was home schooled for 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade. It's something we knew we were going to do for a long time. I have a teaching certificate so that should come in handy although I have lots of friends and family who home school that do not and they are great teachers. Olivia has been so excited to start school she could hardly stand it. I was going to wait until after Labor Day to start but she has been asking every day if we could please start. I set up a little classroom in Audrey's room (soon to be the baby's room) and it's not quite done but she loves it. She asked me today if she could call me Mrs. Lee. I thought that was so cute. I had her and Audrey sit on pillow cases for circle time (instead of a mat) and they thought that was so cool. Olivia stayed so good on her pillow case and raised her hand when she wanted to ask me or answer a question. Audrey, well, we have some work to do to get her to sit still and stay on her mat, but heck, she just turned 3 and she isn't really doing school yet but she will probably pick up on a lot which is good. Olivia likes her to be there because she wanted to have more kids at her school. I asked her if she would rather go to school so there would be more kids or do home school and she said home school but with Audrey. We'll probably just do school 3-4 days a week and be pretty laid back since it's preschool. She is so excited to learn so I think it will be good for her.
