Happy 2nd Birthday Audrey!!

2 years ago today Audrey Elizabeth Lee was born. She weighed 7 lbs. 9 oz. and was 19 1/2" long. Today, after 2 years she is just a "Little Bit". That's what we call her. She only weighs around 21 lbs and is about 32" tall. (These are measurements from July 10th so she may be a little bigger now.) But still, today someone asked how old she was and I said 2 and she said, "Wow, she is small." Yep, she's our Little Bit. A Little Bit with a BIG attitude. Yes, she is in her terrific and terrible 2's. Olivia at this age was already 29 lbs. and 34". It's crazy how different they are.

Audrey is so much fun right now and cracks us up. My cousin Vanessa said her little boy Evan who just turned 2 is saying "I two" and that's exactly what Audrey says when you ask her how old she is. "I two". SO cute. She is my cuddle bug and has great hugs and kisses. I probably kiss her a bazillion times a day. Her skin is still so soft. Oh by the way, in case you were wondering why all her hair is gone it's because I forgot to save some of her hair from her first haircut and so I tried to snip off some hair to keep. Well, when I did that I took a little too much from one side and then tried to make the other side even. Argh, so I kept cutting thinking I could fix it and it kept getting shorter. I almost cried. Steve said we should just call her Jim. I called my friend Vicki who cuts our hair and begged her to help me. She came over and shaped it up for me. Thanks Vicki, you're a lifesaver. So that's why all of her hair is gone. Oops. Sorry Audrey.

We are having a belated birthday party when my parents come to visit in 2 weeks so I wasn't going to buy a cake for today. Well, Steve just had to go get one. I think he just wanted some for himself. Anyway, he came back with a football cake. For a girl? Yep, he wants her to love football he said. Oh boy, what am I going to do with him.

3 Years Ago Today

3 years ago today we were at the hospital anxiously waiting to find out whether or 7 month old daughter Olivia had Leukemia or Type 1 Diabetes. She was so sick and so fragile. Very dehydrated, eyes sunk in, limp as a rag doll. SO SCARY. We thanked God after finding out that our child did have diabetes and not leukemia. Not that diabetes isn't serious but wow, leukemia, I can't imagine. Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune disease where she has developed antibodies that attack and kill all her islet cells in her pancreas that produce insulin. Without insulin she would die. Thank you God that you allowed her to live and that with insulin she can live for hopefully a very long time. It could have been much worse. The signs for Type 1 Diabetes are urinating a lot, drinking a lot of liquids, not feeling well, losing weight. If you see any of these signs in your child take them in immediately and hopefully they will not get as sick as Olivia did. Because she was an infant, these signs were hard for us to see. We will continue to pray for a cure and that we can keep her blood sugars under control (which is hard to do) so that her body will not succumb to the many complications diabetes can have on the body. We love you little girl and are thankful you are in our lives.

We are so alike that we really should be sisters and our husbands should be brothers. Anyway, she is a VERY talented photographer and has taken some incredible pictures. 100TH POST!!!

Yes, you read it right, this is my 100th post. Can you believe it? It took me awhile to get here but I made it. I have thought about what I wanted to say on this post and at first I was going to list 100 things you may or may not know about me. BUT, for one I don't know if I can come up with that many and two, I don't have time to think of that many. So instead I am going to post about something else that is very, very important to me and that is my sweet little girl Olivia Amber Lee and her fight with diabetes. We are raising money for the Walk for Diabetes on September 14th, 2008 and this will be our 3rd year in a row to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Olivia has been battling this disease for three years on August 21st and we can't wait for a cure. With your help you can make that happen. Also, imagine what life would be like for you if your child had Type 1 Diabetes when you read what I wrote as I reflected on how our lives have been affected by this disease.

A visit from Mamoose and Papaw

Steve's parents came to visit this past week and we had a great time with them. The girls loved hanging out with Papaw and Mamoose. It was so cute to see Olivia snuggling on the couch with her Papaw. It reminded me of when I was little and used to snuggle with my grandpa Thompson.

We went golfing and this is a picture of the next Tigress Woods. I've been golfing about 4 times but this time with great coaches I actually blew my husband away. He couldn't believe how well I did. Heck, I can't believe how well I did. Thanks guys for the tips. So much fun.

We went to the Renaissance Festival in Larkspur, CO. It was interesting to say the least. I've been before but years ago and I forgot how provocatively some of the women dress and how crude some of the actors in the shows can be. Not a place you probably want to take your in-laws but oh well. I think we had some fun. We tried to do more kid friendly things like watch a joust, go to the petting zoo, ride kid rides, eat yummy, yummy food.

The outfit Audrey had on is one that Mamoose and Papaw bought for Olivia but it never fit her but fit Audrey perfect and was so cute.

While they were here we celebrated our 6th anniversary and Papaw's 64th birthday. We went to a BBQ up in Conifer, CO at our friends Brett and Susie's place, we drove to Estes Park, CO and Steve and his dad went to a Rockie's game. Plus golfing and the Renaissance Festival. Very busy but very fun. One funny thing that happened while we were at the BBQ- Some people were playing volleyball and it started to rain. Mamoose and Olivia were in the van and Mamoose talking about the people still playing volleyball in the rain said to Olivia, "They're nuts!" Olivia got a very serious face and looked like she was thinking very hard then said to Mamoose, "I guess they're Brett and Susie's nuts." Mamoose laughed very hard.
