Uncle Time

My Uncle Greg was in town for work and he stopped by to see us and meet Owen for the first time. It was so nice to see him, we haven't seen him since I think last summer. (Not quite sure what was going on with the blinds in the background.)

Audrey really took to him, she drew him a picture, he drew one for her, then she leaned up against him with her back facing him and he rubbed her back (which she loves). I loved that even though we don't see him very much she still bonded with him.

My mom sent down some face paints with a book on how to draw fun things so Uncle Mike went to town and painted away. The girls LOVED it! Here are some of his creations:

Not related to Uncle Time but had to throw this in somewhere for the grandparents. The girls had their Awana Awards Night and this is the best picture I could come up with, I really need a class on how to take good pictures.

Two days ago Steve accepted a job with a medical sales company who he had been interviewing with and it was such an answer to prayer. It has been a long 18 months since he lost his last medical sales job. 10 months of unemployment followed by his recent job of 8 months. God has really taught us a lot through all of this and we are so thankful to Him for seeing us through this time. Thanks to those of you who have prayed for us and helped support us through this last year and a half. We have been truly blessed.

5 months old!

Hi Owen,

At 5 months old you:

• weigh somewhere between 17 & 18 lbs.
  
• are wearing size 3 diapers
• are wearing size 3-6 month clothes and some 6-9 month clothes
• found your feet a week ago and you love to grab and hold them
• are starting to reach for food I'm eating
• are really exploring with your hands, you like to touch my face and grab my lips
• are getting your first tooth on the bottom but it is taking it's time coming in
• are sleeping for an 8 hour stretch at night, then eat, then another 4 hours or so.
• want to go to bed for the night at 7 p.m. but then you're up at 3 a.m. so I may start waking you up at 10 p.m. to eat and then maybe you'll sleep until 8 a.m. or so.
  
• take 3 naps but the last few days you have taken just 2 (Are you wanting to drop that 3rd nap?)
  
• love to play in your activity center

We wonder what Gatorade will pay for this picture someday when Owen is a professional football player?

I think Olivia and Audrey wore this outfit too.

So I tried this hat on him and I think it is 3-6 months but with his big head it did not fit. Can you
see the strap and the chub on both sides? So funny.

Owen's Baptism

Owen was baptized on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010. It was a beautiful day and what a day to remember his baptism, the same day that we remember the resurrection of Christ.

I tear up every time one of my kids is baptized. What a special moment and how awesome that my children are members of God's covenant community. Owen fussed a little when Pastor Thurston poured water on his head, I think a little went in his eyes but other than that, he did great.

Easter Eggs

Grandpa is always a good helper when we dye Easter eggs, he has LOTS of patience.

Then got ready for church and took a few pics outside but as you can tell by the look on Olivia's face, it was a bit cold.

My parents and grandma came down.

Owen was baptized on Easter. (That will be the next post.)

Here we are with four generations. My grandma, mom, me, and my kids. I hope I'm going and blowing like my grandma when I'm 82!

Ohhh, Owen and his grandparents! My dad was cracking my mom and I up because he was standing real tall to try and appear a lot taller than my mom.

After church, we had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard.

It was so cute, these two were being so nice to each other and helping each other find eggs. Olivia would find one and put it in Audrey's basket. I thought they would have been in competition for the most eggs but that was not the case.
