Monthly Organizing Project

So I read a blog called orgjunkie.com. I love it and it inspires me to declutter and organize. So she started this monthly organizing roundup where she picks a different room of the house each month and everyone is supposed to work on that room to organize whether it be the whole room or just a drawer or two. Well, February was the Kitchen. I had great plans for the kitchen. I was going to organize a drawer here and a cabinet there all month long until the room was done. I was pumped and excited. This is what I got done.

Before

After

That's it! In one month I managed to clean out and organize one cabinet. I had high hopes and this is it. But I'm going to keep trying every month to get better. I am very slow when it comes to stuff like this. I think about it too much instead of just doing it. Maybe blogging about it will help me work faster so I can show you what I did. Then again maybe not. Having two young children is difficult when trying to get stuff like this done. They are right by me pulling things out and making messes but no excuses right, just keep trying. We'll see how I do next month, March is the Dining Room but since I don't have one I'm going to tackle more of the kitchen and maybe start with my bedroom closet. Stay tuned!

Happy Leap Day!!

Well, my baby is 18 months old today. That's right, she's 1 1/2 years old. And she still only weighs 20 lbs. 3 0z. and is 30 1/2 inches tall. That's why we call her Little Bit. Olivia weighed 20 lbs. before she was a year old. She still doesn't talk much, mostly mama, dada, hi, uh oh, ouch, ka ka (you know if something is gross you say ka ka) and I think that's it. She jabbers a lot and tries to repeat me but it's mostly jibberish and very cute. She is my little snuggler, always giving hugs and kisses and wants to be held. She cracks everyone up with the faces she makes. Very animated this little girl. I think that's why a lot of people think she looks like her dad. By the way, I had posted back in December about the antibody Audrey had developed and told you all that we would know in 4-6 weeks if it went away or not, well, praise God it's gone. This doesn't mean that it won't ever come back but for now it's gone. Thankfully for now she was one of the 75% that get it and it goes away. Yippee.

A Belated Birthday Party

Olivia, Audrey, and I traveled with my mom, who had been staying with us, to Wyoming and we celebrated both Olivia's 3rd birthday and my mom's birthday. Olivia's party was princess themed and my talented and creative sister-in-law Bethanne made her the coolest birthday cake. Thanks Aunt Bee for all your hard work.

Happy Valentine's Day

O.k. this post has nothing to do with Valentine's Day but I couldn't think of another title and it is V-day!

So yesterday Olivia was talking to my mom and I overheard her say to my mom:

Olivia: I'm angry and mad.
My mom: Why?
Olivia: I'm tired of this life.

WHAT? Where did she get that from? And why is she so angry? I can't remember why she might have been angry, I think she might have been getting her hair done and she hates to have her hair brushed but regardless, how can she be sick of this life already, she's only been around for 3 years. My mom and I started laughing because we weren't sure what else to do and so Olivia laughed too.

Anyway, yesterday it was 68 degrees here and then today it snowed and dropped to 20 degrees. What's up with that? That makes me angry and mad. I'm tired of this life. Wait, did I just say that? Oops.

My sister would be 31 today

If my sister Amber were still alive she would be 31 today. We were only 19 months apart so I often think about how close we would be today. For those of you who don't know, Amber was killed in a car accident in 1989 at age 12, almost 19 years ago. What would she look like if she were alive today, what would she be doing, would she be married and have children, would we live close? I miss her a lot and can see my sister and I when I look at my girls sometimes. Olivia and Audrey are also 19 months apart so they will grow up close like we did and I can't wait for them to hopefully be best friends like we were. People often mistook us as twins when we were little, we were very close. I miss that sister relationship a lot, I love my brothers very much but there is just nothing like a sister. Happy Birthday Ammie.
