Goodness Gracious

I'm playing catch up on stuff I wanted to post about in the last month and a half but never got to it.

We got dumped on with snow in the last two days and our trees were sagging low so Steve went to fix the situation. Problem is we need to buy him some boots. This is how Oakies who can't afford snow boots address the problem. He put trash bags around his legs and taped them. Why he's wearing just his undershorts with his coat I'm not so sure. Needless to say his legs were ice cold when he came inside.

Steve was teaching Olivia to play baseball, she took it very seriously and hit the ball several times, she loved it.

She was running across the street to me and fell flat on her nose and then skid forward, thus her puppy dog scab. Poor baby girl.

This little girl is my singer, she sings all day long at the top of her lungs and sings a lot of songs that she makes up, I LOVE IT! She even fell asleep with her microphone.

Went to the dinner with The Roses. We all went to church together when I was young and I grew up with their daughter. 20 years ago they moved to Washington and I've only seen them once since then more than 10 years ago. They were in town and we got to see them, so much fun to catch up.

Steve and our neighbor Jose "our fix it guy" cutting down 10 of our dead poplar trees. So sad they are gone, they were so pretty but not when they were dead.

Date Night

My brother took the girls to a movie and Steve and I had our own date night out probably for the last time before our little man arrives. We went to dinner at P.F. Changs, my favorite, and then to a movie. We went to P.F. Changs the night before I started labor with Olivia. I think we may have gone there sometime before Audrey was born too so this is becoming a tradition.

36 weeks means 4 +/- weeks to go

Actually by the time I actually post this (10/18) I'm 37 weeks but the picture was taken at 36 weeks. So really only 3 +/- weeks to go. Probably more than 3 because both my girls were late which is o.k. with me because I'm still getting things ready for him. I'm definitely nesting! He's head down and has been for awhile so hopefully he'll stay that way. He moves so much it's crazy but there is not much room in there so it's uncomfortable. I can't wait to meet him!

Visiting my cousin

On the way to California and back we got to visit and stay with my cousin Chaney and her family in Grand Junction. Her boys are so sweet and it was awesome to get to know them better. Bjorn is 2 years old but he talks like he's 10, I love it, he had the sweetest voice. And little baby Chay was so cute and had the best grin!

The girls had a lot of fun with Bjorn, don't they look like they could be brother and sisters. Especially he and Audrey. He was such a cuddler, he hardly knew me but came up to me multiple times and just laid on my shoulder and cuddled with me for the longest time, such a sweet personality. It was great seeing Chaney, her husband Philip and their boys and I wish we lived closer to them. We don't get to see each other enough.

Thanks Chaney and Philip for your hospitality, it made our trip that much more special!!

Santa Monica Beach

We were able to make a trip to the beach while in California and the girls had a blast. Every day we were in L.A. the temperature was around 105 degrees EXCEPT for the one day we went to the beach, it was like in the 70's. Cold for the beach but the girls didn't care, Olivia never wanted to leave.

We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and it was yummy! Steve put his shoes inside those plaster ones for the picture, Run Forest Run!

I got this idea from a friend, I gave Olivia a bag of Cheerios and a piece of string and she strung this necklace, it took her 45 minutes or more. She loved it.

Zoned out on a movie

Audrey tuckered out/Olivia is opening a present. I wrapped them each 5 cheapy presents to open on the way there and back. I got this idea from someone too and it really made it fun and they looked forward to opening them. It was all stuff that would entertain them for awhile like books, preschool activity books, dry erase boards, etc.
