What's been going on at my house this week

Well, for starters we were in the backyard yesterday and Miss Audrey was playing in the grass. I looked over at her and she was squatting and then all of a sudden she pushed herself up from a squatting position to standing up and she stayed there for at least 5 seconds. Then I went and helped her up and then let go over and over and she would stand there for awhile and then plop down. She loves to walk around holding onto my fingers. It won't be long before she's walking. She loves getting in the fridge and pulling everything out of it. Here she has a peach and it is all over her clothes.

My mom has been here this last week and she braided Olivia's hair for the first time. She didn't have a comb to part it but I love it. My mom said she looks exactly like me when I was little and she did my hair in braids.

We took the girls swimming at Uncle Mike's pool. This was Audrey's first time in this little boat and she loved it. When Olivia was little she never would let me put her in there, she would just scream and scream.

Now she can barely fit and she loves it.

We were riding in the car the other day and Olivia had a pack of gum. She dropped all the pieces out on her lap and then said, "Oh my gosh, I dropped my piece of gums." Silly girl.

Audrey's 1st 4th of July

So this is the first 4th that Steve and I have spent together that we weren't either in Wyoming up at Grandma's cabin or in Oklahoma with Steve's family and friends. I was thinking what do we do. Then my cousin Annie called and invited us to Limon, CO for a BBQ. Yeah, we had something to do. It was a great BBQ! And yummy food, I ate so much I was almost sick. You really know how to throw a party cousin. Olivia had a blast with her cousins Katie and Titus. Annie's husband Matt put on a very good firework show for us in their backyard. And we could see the fireworks that the city of Limon arranged.

This is Olivia with Matt's dad Bud Powell. When Olivia saw him she ran up to him and gave him a big hug. (The last time she saw him she was very little so she doesn't even know who he is .) She kept calling him Santa. She followed him around for about the 1st 5 minutes showing him everything. "Look at the sand Santa." "Santa, look at this." It was hilarious. He said he gets it all the time. I wonder why, hee hee.

When my Matt started the fireworks they were kind of loud. She ran over to me and said, "I'm not scared momma, Jesus is here." I had to smile because at night when she is scared I say, "Don't worry honey, Jesus is here, he'll protect you." I'm glad she remembers that for other times that might be scary like loud fireworks.

Another Year Come and Gone

My 32nd birthday was on Saturday and it was a great day. That morning I enjoyed a massage that my husband had bought as a gift for Christmas. Lovely massage. Steve bought me a yummy chocolate cake and he and Olivia sang Happy Birthday to me. That afternoon I went to Ulta to get a free makeover and learn more about the makeup I just purchased. It's called bareMinerals and it is just awesome. My brother came over that night to babysit so Steve and I could go on a date which we haven't done in a long time. We went downtown Denver to dinner and a movie and had a great time. Received some birthday calls, emails, and cards and it was just a good birthday. Then last night a girlfriend of mine got a few of our friends together for a girl's night out to celebrate my birthday. We went to this quaint little restaurant The Huckleberry in Louisville, Colorado and enjoyed awesome food, friendship, and a lot of laughs. Thanks Lanee!
