Owen's 1st Birthday Party!

We had a birthday party for Owen and here are a some pics from that day.

I have always wanted to do a monkey theme party if I ever had a boy so this was my chance.

And a cake for everyone else. I didn't make the cakes this time. I thought about it but I was all about making it simple this time so I ordered them.

Audrey put on a dancing show with her new light up shoes. It was awesome! She really gets into it and her facial expressions are the best.

Happy 1st Birthday Owen!

Wow! I cannot believe that one year has passed since you were born. I feel like it was just yesterday. Here is a pic of you at birth-
You've changed so much since that day. Here is what is going on with you these days:

• You weigh 21 lbs. 8 0z. (31%)
  
• You are 29.5" long (34%)
• Your head circumference is 47 cm. (97%) Whoa!!!!!!!!!!!! Big Head Little Buddy! I think you got your big head from me and your short legs from daddy.
  
• You are still in size 3 diapers.
• You wear some 12 month but more and more 18 month clothes.
  
• You wear size 4 almost 5 shoes.
• You are walking so well now and no more crawling.
  
• You are giving kisses. It is so sweet, I'll say "Give mommy kisses." and you lean over and plant one on me. You'll go back and forth between daddy and I giving kisses.
• You LOVE your sisters and are always so excited to see them. Audrey has been your little buddy lately. She plays with you a lot and you follow her around. Sometimes you chase her from room to room and she tries to get away from you and you both laugh really hard.
  Olivia loves to go get you out of your crib and hold you, she is a good little mommy to you.
• You babble a lot and sometimes you look at me with this serious face and just talk away like I should know what you are saying. No words yet except maybe dada. I've heard mama only a few times when you are really tired and cranky.

Daddy brought you an Elmo that blows kisses home on your birthday. You got so excited you could barely stand to wait while daddy got him out of the box. You gave him a BIG kiss, it was so cute.

The WOW Museum Field Trip & Making Ice Cream

My homeschool group went on a field trip to the WOW Children's Museum to learn about the Science of Ice Cream.

But first we played in the museum. Our friends Aaron and Eli came with us.

Now to ice cream making. We listened to a presentation about the science of ice cream and learned that it takes solid, liquid, and gas (air) to make ice cream. Then we got to mix the ingredients.

After mixing the ingredients we put it in these buckets with ice and salt on the bottom, taped them up and then had to shake it for 15 minutes so it could turn into ice cream.

Here the kids are rolling the bucket back and forth and then shaking it in between rolls.

Enjoying the ice cream that they worked hard for. It was yummy!

Then we played a little longer.

The boys had fun dressing up in costumes.

Halloween 2010!

This year Olivia was an Eskimo girl, Audrey was a fairy, and Owen was the mascot for the OU Sooners which is a horse.

Although some people thought he was a rhino. I don't blame them, look at that flat nose, that's not a horse nose. Oh well, Steve picked it out and really wanted him to wear it.

Olivia really wanted to be a polar/Eskimo girl after seeing a similar costume in a magazine. I was surprised that she wanted to be this because I wasn't sure she even knew much about what an Eskimo is but she was adamant. We ended up doing a lesson in school about Eskimos so that was fun.

Little Miss wanted to be a dog, then Jerry from Tom and Jerry, then Thumbelina, then I brought this fairy costume home and she loved it. Then right before she wore it she told me she wanted to be a police girl. Maybe next year Audge.

We went trick-or-treating this year with my friend Vicki's kids and their cousin and friends.

Owen just loves to be outside so this was so much fun for him. His first Halloween!

They had a lawn mower pulling a trailer for the kids to ride in and it was decked out.
