St. Maarten Here We Come

8 weeks from tomorrow Steve, Olivia, Audrey and I will be on a plane to St. Maarten, an island in the Caribbean. Steve won a trip through his company, they had a wild card draw at his National Sales Meeting at the end of January and they drew his name along with several others. When he called me to tell me to pack my bags, I immediately thought I need to get on that treadmill tomorrow and not stop until we leave. I can't wait, I think it will be a lot of fun. The resort we are staying at is brand new so we can't beat that. What a blessing to be able to get away and enjoy the sun. With as much snow as we've had in Colorado this winter I am ready for warmth. We do have to pay for our passports and Olivia's plane ticket so we didn't completely get away with an all expense paid trip but almost. I am a little worried about the plane ride though. First, we fly to Dallas for 2 hours, then to San Juan, Puerto Rico which is over 4 hours, then one more one hour plane ride to St. Maarten. On the way back the flight time from San Juan to Dallas is over 5 hours which is odd so they must take a longer flight path on the way back. And no it's not because of the time change it is the actual flight duration. SOOOO, what do we do with a 2 year old on a plane for that long. Any ideas? As most of you know, two year olds don't keep their attention focused very long on one thing. We will have the DVD player, books, and snacks, but any other suggestions would be helpful.

Another dilemma to ponder, should I try and potty train Olivia before we go or wait until we get back? I have had suggestions on how to potty train but any other suggestions are welcome. I actually might try it this week and see how she does. Wish me luck and PRAY hard for me. I've heard it can be worse than childbirth although I don't think it can be worse than my childbirths.
